About Cara

Unlearning, and coming back home to myself.

I’m Cara, Certified Life Coach, Mind-Body Practitioner, founder of Unlearn to Return, and educator of 20 plus years.

My work is rooted in a question that has become deeply personal: What happens when we spend so long being who we’re expected to be that we lose connection with who we are?

I know what it feels like to keep showing up for everyone else while quietly wondering where you went. My own journey has included teacher burnout, chronic pain, a difficult relationship with my body that began in childhood, and questioning beliefs about achievement, worthiness, and what makes a meaningful life. Learning to listen to myself—my body, my needs, and my own voice—has changed how I live, teach, and support others.

After more than two decades in education, I’ve also seen how early we learn to override ourselves: sit still, push through, follow directions, keep up. I care deeply about children whose needs are misunderstood and adults who are exhausted from trying to fit expectations that leave little room for their humanity.

Through coaching, mindfulness, and mind-body practices, I help people recognize the patterns and expectations that pull them away from themselves. Together, we make space to understand what they need, question what they’ve been taught to accept, and explore choices that feel more honest and fulfilling.

I’m drawn to deep conversations, spirituality, Human Design, time in nature, and the everyday moments that bring us back to the present. I believe our bodies deserve care and respect, our voices deserve room, and joy belongs in our lives along the way.

I’m still unlearning, experimenting, and returning home to myself, too. That ongoing practice is the heart of Unlearn to Return: guiding adults to unlearn what disconnects them from themselves and helping children grow up without losing that connection.
